Birmingham Careers Hub Conference

On Thursday 24th October 2019, I had the privilege of accompanying five Year 13 students on the train to the Birmingham Area Careers HUB Meeting & Conference which was held at the Make UK Technology site in Aston. Whilst a meeting of Careers professionals from around the city took place, our students gained some work experience by meeting and greeting the delegates and helping to set up various exhibits and stands for them. The students also had a guided tour of this impressive site which trains young engineering apprentices.

During the conference part of the day Aaron, Kayla, Mia, George and Aidan spoke confidently about their careers journeys and the different activities and events they had taken part in at school which had helped them make informed choices about their futures. All of the conference delegates I spoke to said how impressed they were with all our students and how wonderful it was to hear young people speak so well in front of a large audience of adults. Well done Aaron, Kayla, Mia, George and Aidan and good luck in the future too!
