Big Sleep 2019

On Friday 29th March over 20 students and staff took part in the Big Sleep at school where they slept out overnight to raise money for the homeless of Birmingham. This year we are supporting the Geoff Horsfield Foundation who are aiming to raise funds to build a permanent shelter in the city.

For those who took part, a soup kitchen was set up and they were treated to tomato and minestrone soup with bread rolls that the school provided and which was served after they built their shelters from cardboard and tarpaulin.

Mrs Davies then set up a quiz to entertain the students and, as the evening drew to a close, we had a delivery from Wychall Fish Bar who kindly donated their leftovers at the end of the evening. To be fair, there was enough to feed a small army - thank you!!!

Overnight temperatures reached freezing point and ground frost greeted those who woke in the morning.

It was great to see so many students take part and we are nearly halfway towards reaching our £500 target on.
