National Mental Health Awareness Week at the NEC

Ten Year 12 and 13 students visited the NEC for a Guinness World Record attempt to set the world record for the biggest image of the human mouth. This was part of National Mental Health Awareness Week run by Lloyds Banking group.

Our students were very good at dealing with a change of plan as, on our arrival, instead of counting and stewarding, the students were needed to be part of the biggest human mouth and be Guinness World Record Holders!

Learners had an opportunity to listen to Ollie Phillips, England World Rugby Player, talk about his experiences of mental health. This was followed by a talk on Mental Health in the workplace.

Learners as always were a credit to the school and were a pleasure to be with.  It was a marvellous opportunity for learners and staff to be part of a Guinness world record. Guinness World Records donated a copy of their latest annual to our school library.

Thank you to Mr Martin for organising for the learners to attend and to Mr Jaep for driving us to the NEC at 630am!
